Controversy

What is the right way to eat? There are many groups with many different opinions. Many of these opinions come from people who don't care about you. They care about making sure your money goes into their pockets either directly or they get paid by people who want your money. Okay, I want your money too but not for telling you how to eat right.

Let me cite you one study done where people were put on a 1000 calorie a day diet. These people were divided into three groups. One group was given mainly protien, one mainly fats and the last group was given mainly carbohydrates. The people fed protien and fat lost weight. The people given carbohydrates gained weight. The lesson is simple, decrease your carbohydrate intake and lose weight.

If you avoid grains (rice, wheat, barley) and their products (noodles, beer, bread, etc.) and all other sugars (carbohydrates all break down into glucose in the body) you will lose weight. Your mother was right, eat your meat and your vegatables. Leave the icecream, sweets and all that garbage alone.

The good news is you can eat all those horrible foods your were told were bad for you like red meat, bacon, sausage, cheese and eggs. That's right, these are weight loss foods. Am I insane? Nope. Here is how body fat is made.

Body fat is more properly called a Triglyceride. It is one molecule sugar and three molecules of Free Fatty Acids. Now if you don't want to make a triglyceride you either get rid of the fat or you get rid of the sugar. How? Simple, keep them out of your mouth. Now which should you not eat? Fat has gotten a bad reputation but unfairly. Fat is important to our well being. If we had no fat in our diet we would soon develope deficiency diseases. That's right. No fat and we get sick. Carbohydrates (sugar) on the other hand is not essential to our diet. If we never put another piece of rice, bread or a noodle in our mouth ever again, we would be healthier than we are today. These nutrients are completely non-esssential to our diet. There is not such thing as an essential carbohydrate. If our body wants sugar, it can break down protien and fat to form it very easily. Carbohydrate however, can not form protien or fat.

So, if you want to get slimmer, greatly reduce your carbohydrate intake today. This is a subject that many books have been written about. I want to suggest to you what I consider the three best and one other that you must have. When you click on the links to these books you will be taken to the websites of the author or Amazon.com. If possible, please buy these books locally and help our own economy. Not only that but I want you to read and educate yourself. That way, no one will ever be able to lie to you again with false advertisements or infomercials. Besides these books, another execllent source of information (read the books first) is the usenet newsgroup alt.support.diet.low-carb .
