It's safe, it's painless, most people really like it and it's more than 5000 years old. It's old because it works. It works by taking pressure off the disc among other things. Chiropractors are best at it.
The RAND Corporation confirmed that chiropractors perform 94% of all spinal manipulation procedures in the U.S.A.
"Manipulation in the Curricula of Chiropractic, Osteopathic, Physical Therapy, and Medical Schools," by Michael Hillyer, DC, establishes chiropractors as the best educated to perform manipulation when compared to DOs, MDs, and PTs.
Also, manipulation isn't just for the spine. It's also for necks, elbows, wrists, hips, feet and jaws and more. There are many problems that manipulation, if done by the right person, can help with. |

Flexion-Distraction Technique is a well-researched (with research studies completed and underway), well-referenced (with over 90+ articles in medical and chiropractic journals) chiropractic spinal adjusting manipulation
Flexion-Distraction Technique drops intradiscal pressures to -192 mmHg and increases the foraminal area by 28%.
Flexion-Distraction Technique stops pain, realigns the spine and restores ranges of motion inherent to the spine while reducing low back pain, especially in radiculopathy (extremity pain--leg pain or arm pain) patients, better than active exercise therapy. |

In 1989, when I was attending the University of Wisconsin - Milwaukee, I hurt my knee in judo class. I went to the sports specialists, physiotherapists and even chiropractors. No one could fix my knee.
In my first year at chiropractic school, for something to do, I went to a seminar on fixing muscle problems. I went home and fixed my own knee. It's been fine ever since.
Many, many problems are muscle problems. If it's not completely a muscle problem it's usually partly a muscle problem.
Muscle therapy is a whole separate education in itself and separate from Chiropractic. It's my favorite subject, one I continually keep upgrading my knowledge on by attending courses and seminars.
The world of muscle therapy is wide, encompassing Trigger Point, Release, Fascial and other types of therapy.
